The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum took to Instagram Monday to share the news, saying she chose to go through with the procedure due to insecurities about her profile. She also showed post-op images of her scar and assured fans that she’s recovering well.

That wasn’t enough, however, to satisfy some followers, as one DM’d the reality star,  “Ur a public figure trying to help women loose [sic] weight yet your [sic] getting a face lift to remind those of us who need one who can’t afford one how ugly we are Thanku.”

After dropping 80 pounds, Mellencamp began her All In accountability program, which was met with criticism due to its restrictive diet of only 500 calories per day and exorbitant rates.

In response to the critic, Mellencamp wrote, “I am being transparent with my journey. Would you prefer I lie and pretend the loose skin on my neck disappeared? That’s not who I am. You want to only follow people that show themselves through a filtered version of themselves then I am not the person to follow.”

She added the the procedure had nothing to do with “going all in on your life” and that she would continue to help others achieve their goals.

She then asked her followers, “Do you appreciate me being open about my journey or would you rather I just pretend I did nothing?”

The surgery comes two months after the star’s skin cancer scare, as she underwent a test to determine if she may have melanoma on her back.

“I had been avoiding [getting my skin checked] bc of my own anxiety for a very long time but when [Kyle Richards] saw my back and it had changed colors again, she immediately took me to the doc who within minutes said it looks like melanoma and did a big removal,” Mellencamp shared at the time.

A few days later, she shared the good news that her melanoma is, “in situ which means the cancer cells were contained in that area of my skin and have not spread any deeper!”

Her body, her choice — at least she’s honest!
