Disney Channel recently revealed its plans to film a biopic about teen baseball prodigy Mo’ne Davis, and one young man wasn’t pleased.

Shortly after learning of the announcement, Bloomsburg University baseball player Joey Casselberry shared the following thought on Twitter:

“Disney is making a movie about Mo’ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That slut got rocked by Nevada.”

Joey’s tweet eventually spread like wildfire across social media, forcing the college player to deactivate his account. He first apologized for the offensive tweet, however.

“An example that one stupid tweet can ruin someone’s life and I couldn’t be more sorry about my actions last night. I please ask you to. Forgive me and truly understand that I am in no way shape or form a sexist and I am a huge fan of Mo’ne. She was quite an inspiration.”

Unfortunately for Joey, he was later removed from Bloomsburg University’s baseball team, which posted the following message on its Twitter account:

“Bloomsburg Univ is deeply saddened by what was written about #MoneDavis by one of our student-athletes. His words do not represent us. We take matter very seriously; addressed the issue with the student-athlete (who has been dismissed from team), coach, and the team.”

Gotta be careful with that free speech…
