Diehard fans of the fairly new BET series have reason to rejoice.
After airing only the first episode of its second season, BET has swiftly renewed Being Mary Jane for a third season.
It’s second season premiere opened as the number one original series premiere on cable this year.
In more Mary Jane news, Gabrielle Union stopped by The Today Show to discuss its success and more with Matt Lauer and former 106 & Park host AJ Calloway.
While chopping it up with Matt, Gabrielle revealed the following:
“I would like to think I’ve adapted some of the more believable qualities of respected anchors, but because we don’t know what happens in your lives really, I made her a hot mess. I’m obsessed with Soledad O’Brien, and that’s who I sort of patterned her after. Soledad has an amazing life as far as we can tell, and Mary Jane – she just can’t get it right.”
