Anthony Mackie is set to portray American track and field legend Jesse Owens in an upcoming biopic being developed by Relativity Media.
According to Variety, quite a few Jesse Owens films are in the works.
Focus recently completed Race, and Disney is currently working on an untitled Jesse Owens film based on the book Triumph.
For those of you unfamiliar with Jesse’s story, he won a record four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany, completely dismantling Adolf Hitler’s theory of Aryan athletic superiority.
Anthony will next star as Falcon in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
