Stacey Dash Addresses Her Domestic Violence Arrest, Calls Fight with Husband ‘Normal’

Stacey Dash has dismissed her recent arrest for domestic violence as a “formality” after a minor family fight got out of hand.

“Like normal married couples my husband and I had a marital dispute that escalated,” the Bronx native wrote on Twitter Sunday, after officials confirmed that her domestic battery charges had been dropped.

Deputies were called to the family’s house in New Port Richey, Fla., the previous Sunday, where they arrested her.

“No charges were pressed by her husband, however, Deputies arrested Ms. Dash peacefully, as a formality,” a statement on her website said.

“The marital dispute, while personal and unfortunate, has since been blown out of proportion,” it added.

Her husband, Jeffrey Marty — who she married last year 10 days after they met — praised the Pasco County state attorney for making “the right call by declining to file charges against my wife.”

“She was arrested over my objection at the time, but due to the pending investigation, I waited to comment until now. We both look forward to getting this behind us,” he tweeted.

Dash — now an outspoken conservative pundit — stressed that as a domestic abuse survivor from a previous relationship she “has championed for other abuse victims to speak up.”

There’s nothing normal about a marital dispute escalating to the point of arrest.
