A Minnesota man convicted of raping his girlfriend’s 4-year-old twins and giving them gonorrhea still maintains his innocence — even though he, too, has the disease.

Arturo Macarro Gutierrez, 36, was found guilty on four counts of criminal sexual conduct – two first-degree and two second-degree – after a four-day trial, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press reported Tuesday.
His unraveling began when one of the twins confided in her grandmother in October 2018 that “daddy hurt her,” the Pioneer Press reported. The twins’ mother was dating Gutierrez at the time.
The grandmother took the toddler to the hospital, where tests showed she had gonorrhea. A SWAT team with a search warrant ferreted him out of his hiding place in the attic of his home, the newspaper said.
Though Macarro professed his innocence, he, too, tested positive for gonorrhea – as did twin number two.
That plus the willingness of the children’s relatives to believe their statements and look into it further helped get Macarro off the streets, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said in a statement obtained by the Pioneer Press.
“Cases involving sexual assault of young children pose significant barriers since they do not possess the language to describe the acts, may not understand that the abuse was wrong, and are susceptible to intimidation and manipulation by the offender,” he said. “This verdict is attributable to the tremendous courage of the young victims and the willingness of caring adults to believe them.”
This man needs to be buried UNDER the jail. There’s no place in society for a monster of this magnitude.
