Xscape Officially Parts Ways with Kandi Burruss, Changes Name to XSCAP3 and Signs New Deal with CAA

Xscape is done.

LaTocha Scott, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and Tamika Scott are officially moving on as a group without Kandi Burruss and have changed their name to XSCAP3.

The trio has also signed a deal with CAA for worldwide representation in all areas.

via Billboard:

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, La Tocha Scott and Tamika Scott join CAA’s growing roster which has seen recent signings for Logic, Fetty Wap, Wu Tang Clan, Cardi B and A$AP Rocky, as well previous signings that include Kanye West, Tinashe, Andra Day and T.I., who was married to Cottle between 2010 and 2016 and have three children together.

XSCAP3 first formed in 1992 as a four-piece (then called Xscape) and were signed by Jermaine Dupri on his So So Def label. Their album 1993 album Hummin’ Comin’ At ‘Cha peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart, spawning two of their biggest hits “Just Kickin’ It” and “Understanding.” Their followup 1995 album, Off the Hook, was certified platinum, while their third and final album, 1998’s Traces of My Lipstick, was certified gold.

The group broke up in 1998 to pursue solo projects and reformed in 2017 as XSCAP3, embarking on their first headline tour, The Great Xscape, which sold out arenas across the country, touring in 30 cities over the span of three months.

Their upcoming album, Here For It, will be released March 3 via their own label, XSCAP3 Entertainment, and features the single “Memory Lane.” XSCAP3 is currently filming a documentary that will trace the group and its members’ origins.

Good luck, ladies. We wonder which version — Xscape or Xscap3 — will appear at Essence Fest this year…?
