Maia Campbell Arrested in Atlanta as Part of Street Racing Crackdown

Campbell played Tiffany Warren on the show “In the House,” which starred LL Cool J and Alfonso Ribeiro and aired from 1995 to 1999. But in recent years,

Campbell has made headlines for her battles with substance abuse and bipolar disorder. In 2012, she discussed her life in a series on the OWN channel called  “Iyanla: Fix My Life.”

Details about Campbell’s involvement in the street-racing bust were not released.

The weekend crackdown was the latest targeting street racers in metro Atlanta, where races have become spectator events and created a buzz on social media. With many streets emptier due to the coronavirus pandemic, the daredevils have more opportunities, according to police.

“This isn’t new,” Carlos Campos, spokesman for Atlanta police, said Monday afternoon. “But what the pandemic did was create a perfect storm where you have young people who are bored; their usual outlets — shopping, hanging out in a park — those were all eliminated by the stay-at-home orders.”

Police also issued 114 citations and had 29 cars impounded. Other agencies, including the Georgia State Patrol, assisted with the crackdown.

Maia’s been going through it for some years now. We hope one day she gets the help and treatment she needs — she deserves a better life than this.
