Kendall Jenner Explains Why She Deleted Her Instagram: 'I Felt a Little Too Dependent On It' [Video]

Kendall Jenner deleted her Instagram last week…and it made national news.

The model told Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday that not only did she delete Instagram, but she removed Twitter from her phone as well.

“It’s so crazy to me that it even became huge news like that,” said Kendall. “I mean, I guess I didn’t expect it. I also took my Twitter off my phone. Like, I didn’t delete my Twitter entirely but I took the app off my phone. So I had no idea anyone was even talking about it. I honestly didn’t even think anyone would care.”

As for why the elusive Jenner backed away from social media — she says she just needed a break.

“I just wanted to detox,” Kendall said. “I just wanted a little bit of a break. I’m always on it. I would wake up in the morning and look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it. So I kind of just wanted to take a minute.”

A lot of people could use a break from social media. Maybe Kendall’s decision will inspire those (especially young girls) who do need the break to go ahead and take one. It’s okay to take a little time and regroup.
