Welp, looks like Kanye is actually not the richest Black man in the U.S. The whole Kanye-kerfuffle erupted because of a now-retracted Forbes article stating that Ye had become the wealthiest Black man.
The Forbes article set the internet on fire noting that Kanye’s Gap deal, which was estimated to be worth between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion and his Yeezy sales helped to increase his net worth from $1.3 billion to $6.6 billion, placing him ahead of JAY-Z and Oprah Winfrey.
Turns out his real-time net worth according to Forbes is $1.3 billion, as of March 18, 2021. The Kanye’s Gap-Yeezy deal is worth $6 billion, he’s not.
Bottom line the man is paid, debating a few billion here and there is definitely rich people talk.
