After months of controversy, Lifetime’s Aailyah biopic, Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will air on November 15th.
The photo above is the first official shot released from the film, showing Alexandra Shipp as Aaliyah in the recording studio.
If you recall, Zendaya was originally supposed to play the role of Aaliyah but then she backed out and Alexandra Shipp took on the role. The movie is also now being executive produced by Wendy Williams.
Aaliyah’s family still isn’t down with it and threatened to take legal action to stop production, but obviously they’ve been unsuccessful.
