First Look: Idris Elba Stars as Nelson Mandela in ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom [Video]

Check out this teaser trailer of Idris Elba as South African activist Nelson Mandela.

You don’t really get to see Elba up close just yet, but instead you see him at a distance as he traverses across an open field.

The movie tells the extraordinary story of Mandela’s life, from his childhood in a rural village to being imprisoned on Robben Island and then becoming the first democratically elected president of South Africa in 1994. It’s due out in 2014.
