Django Unchained actress Danièle Watts made headlines in September of last year when she accused Los Angeles police of racially profiling her after several nearby residents called and reported that she and her boyfriend Brian Lucas were having sex in their car.

Several local civil rights activists spoke out on Danièle’s behalf, and many users of social media were vocal in their support of the actress as well.

Unfortunately for Danièle, an internal investigation conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department later revealed that she had lied about being racially profiled, and her supporters withdrew their support.

Yesterday the actress pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace and was ordered by a judge to write an apology to the three police officers she falsely accused. She and her boyfriend were also ordered to perform 40 hours each of community service.

Luckily, their lewd conduct charge was dismissed, and if the couple remains out of trouble for a year, their records will be wiped clean of the incident.

SMH. Don’t lie, people.

As a bonus, you can listen to Danièle’s entire interaction with the police officers below.
