Chance the Rapper has issued an apology for tweeting in defense of Kanye West’s affection for Donald Trump.
In a lengthy note shared via social media, Chance says that he would “never support anyone who has made a career out of hatred, racism, and discrimination” and promises to make amends with “immediate action and advocacy for those who need it the most.”

We wonder if those amends have anything to do with Kanye’s Donda Social project — but we digress.
Unfortunately for Chance, his apology comes at the same time Donald Trump thanked him by name for being a voice in the Black community.
Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community – Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades – Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history).

Chance quickly disavowed Trump’s approval, but the damage has been done.
