Amber Rose sat down with Vlad TV and talked a lot about her relationship with the gay community.
She opens up about her LGBT friends, reactions to her ‘butch’ hairstyle, and her ballroom past.
When asked if the gay community is more accepted these days in hip-hop, Amber says that she believes so, as most of the stylists and assistants to the rappers are gay.
“Gay people know fashion, they know what’s poppin’, and a lot of the rappers’ stylists are gay. Their assistants are gay. They’re like ‘That’s cool, they do a good job. I don’t care if they’re gay or not.'”
She adds that rappers having gay staff breaks down the barriers and puts their hard work at the forefront, not their sexual preference.
As far as gay rappers going mainstream, she says that she isn’t sure if the hip-hop community is ready for it — but that it would be “awesome” if it happened soon.
