Roseanne Barr issued an apology after a bizarre, racist Twitter rant Tuesday morning, and then she announced she’s “now leaving Twitter.”
“I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” Barr tweeted. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”
Early Tuesday morning, Roseanne tweeted:
“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”
She was responding to a comment about Jarrett, a top former aide to president Obama.
Roseanne later deleted the tweet.
Many are calling for ABC to cancel season 2 of their highly-successful ‘Roseanne’ reboot.
Roseanne’s network – @ABC / @Disney wanted to showcase the average Trump voter.
Well – they succeeded. Here she is: @therealroseanne is a vile, racist Sandy Hook denier. She dressed up as Hitler and put human-shaped cookies into an oven. She spreads propaganda and lies. pic.twitter.com/EkdrxS8ruw

Hey, @abc, I was appreciating the reboot. But she is racist; her character on TV may be redeeming, but she is not. I'm done with the show and not watching it any more. https://t.co/Ybx7Gtlbbj

.@ABC, how desperate are you to profit from Roseanne’s racism? We know racism sells in this country, it always has. But you don’t have to participate in it. This apology is meaningless. Cancel Roseanne. https://t.co/gpbslQZbJX
