Ellen DeGeneres Breaks ‘Most Retweeted’ Twitter Record with Oscar Selfie [Photo]

Ellen DeGeneres needs to host The Oscars every single year!

During last night’s ceremony, Ellen (with obvious sponsorship from Samsung) set out to break the record for ‘Most Retweeted Photo’ previously held by President Obama.

Along with the help of several famous faces, including Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o and her brother, Brad Pitt and others — Ellen snapped a quick photo and posted it to Twitter.

Within the hour it had been retweeted 1,076,971 times, shattering the President’s previous record of 778,000 retweets.

At the time of this writing ,the photo has been retweeted 2.7 million times. Wow!
