Donald Trump Thanks African Americans Who ‘Didn’t Come Out to Vote’ During Pennsylvania Rally

Donald Trump is still on his Thank You Tour and visited Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday.

During the rally, the president-elect called for the mostly white crowd to cheer for African-Americans who were “smart” to heed his message and therefore “didn’t come out to vote” for his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.

“That was the big thing, so thank you to the African-American community,” Trump said.

The most upsetting part about his comments is that African-Americans simply didn’t just not turn out, they were literally prevented from voting in places.

A total of fourteen states added new laws restricting peoples’ ability to vote, laws that had a disproportionate impact on minorities. In the key state of Wisconsin, authorities confirmed that the new laws had lowered voter turnout.
