There’s a new song on Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail that seems to take shots at Miley Cyrus.
On the song “Somewhere in America,” Jay-Z raps:
“When I was talking Instagram, last thing you wanted was your picture snapped, Feds still lurking, They see I’m still putting work in, Cause somewhere in america Miley Cyrus is still twerkin.’”
Jay-Z follows the line with a laugh and continues,
“Twerk, Miley, Miley, Miley, Only in America.”
Is he paying homage to Miley’s 2009 hit “Party in the USA” where she sings “and a Jay-Z song was on”? Or is he making fun of Miley’s sudden gravitation towards Black culture with her new song “We Can’t Stop” and various twerking appearances?
Miley’s obviously heard the song, but we aren’t sure what she thinks of it. Do you think it was a diss?
