We knew it was going to happen, but Adele’s ’25’ has OFFICIALLY broken the U.S. record for most albums sold in a single week.
Adele’s album, thus far, has sold a whopping 2,433,000 copies and beat the previous record held by *NSYNC who sold 2,416,000 units of their album No Strings Attached back in 2000.
As of now, Adele’s on track to sell at LEAST 2.9 million by the end of the week. If you factor in streaming (which, 25 IS now available to stream on some platforms) she’s projected to move 3.2 million units.
Billboard is scheduled to report 25‘s debut week sales on Sunday, Nov. 29, once Nielsen has finished processing its weekly data.
