Finding quality soul food/ cajun restaurants in LA is a very difficult task. That’s why when I discovered Big Mama’s Rib Shack in Pasadena, CA–I was so pleased to find the food was excellent. Below are the menu selections that were ordered, barbecue ribs and oyster salad. Both were delicious!
The oyster salad came with spicy battered oysters and hush puppies; and the tender barbecue ribs were topped with a zesty barbecue sauce, while the meat literally fell off the bone.
Big Mama’s restaurant provides live music throughout the week, a nice casual ambiance, a flat screen TV for the men who want to watch the game, and expect anything you order to take at least 20 minutes since they cook it on the spot. It’s like eating a quality meal at home, without YOU having to cook and wash dishes.
