Zendaya and her father/bodyguard Kazembe Ajamu attended the Letters To The Men I Have Loved book launch dinner on Sunday (and she looked rather cute, we might add).
Kazembe came to his daughter’s defense on Monday, firing off a series of tweets explaining why Zendaya dropped out of Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic.
He insists it has everything to do with ‘production issues’ and nothing to do with the ‘too light-skinned’ controversy and backlash surrounding Zendaya and the role.
He tweeted:
Whatever the reason is, we’re glad she didn’t go through with it. Lifetime, on the other hand, isn’t so thrilled.
