WNBA Withdraws Fines for Players Wearing Black Lives Matters Shirts ‘To Show Players More Support’

Days after the WNBA issued outrageous fines to teams and individual players for wearing t-shirts in support of Black Lives Matter and slain police officers in Dallas, the league has decided to withdraw the fines.

WNBA President Lisa Borders issued a statement on Saturday declaring that  league was rescinding penalties given to the Indiana Fever, New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and their players for wearing the shirts during pregame protests, which began after the cop-related shootings in Minnesota and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Good for the WNBA. It’s never a good look to be on the wrong side of history!
