Watch: Beyoncé Presents Colin Kaepernick with Sports Illustrated’s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award [Video]

Colin Kaepernick received Sports Illustrated‘s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award last night and it was presented to him by the one and only Beyoncé.

“I say this as a person who receives credit for using my platform to protest systemic oppression, racialized injustice and and the dire consequences of anti-blackness in America,” Colin said upon receiving his award.  “I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people. Because if it were not for my love of the people, I would not have protested. And if it was not for the support from the people, I would not be on this stage today. With our without the NFL’s platform, I will continue to work for the people because my platform is the people.”

Colin sparked national controversy when he began refusing to stand during the national anthem in September 2016 to protest racial inequality and police brutality in America.

A number of NFL players have since voiced their support for the movement. There have also been a number of people upset with Colin’s protest — but who cares?

You can watch Colin’s speech in full below.
