Super Bowl XLVII Dominates Ratings

Basically, everyone watched the Super Bowl last night.

In fact, this was the third most-watched televised event ever.

An average of 108.4 million people watched the Baltimore Ravens defeat the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night in Super Bowl XLVII, the third-largest audience for a television event on record, according to CBS, which aired the football game.

Super Bowl games hold the top three places for most-watched television events, with last year’s attracting a record 111.3 million viewers. That was only slightly higher than the 111.0 million viewers for the 2011 Super Bowl, according to Nielsen.
