‘This Is Us’ star Sterling K. Brown won the SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series, making him the first Black actor to win that category in SAG history.

“What a blessing it is to do what you love for a living. What an honor it is to be recognized by your peers for a job well done. This room is a source of endless inspiration for me. I love all of you,” Sterling said on stage.
“People call us weird and strange; the truth of the matter is everybody’s weird and strange, and we just embrace ourselves for who we are.”
Brown thanked his wife and cast, and his “white family” on the show, which he joked is “nothing like the family from ‘Get Out.’”
The 41-year-old actor beat out Jason Bateman (“Ozark”), Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) and Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”) for the award.
Sterling also made history at the Golden Globes earlier this month when he became the first Black man to win best actor in a drama series.
