Brandy hit the stage at the 2018 Essence Festival in New Orleans and sang her (and Monica’s) 1998 hit “The Boy Is Mine.”
Towards the end of the song Brandy took it upon herself to switch up the words from “the boy is mine” to “the song is mine” — clearly taking shots at duet partner, Monica.
The song has always been a joint single, appearing on both Brandy’s ‘Never Say Never’ as well as serving as the lead single from Monica’s album ‘The Boy Is Mine.’
We don’t know what has Brandy so bothered, but that shade was unnecessary.
