With Christmas being just a week away, a lot of us will be rushing out this weekend to do some holiday shopping.
If you’re thinking about buying a loved one some underwear, be cautious. An undercover investigation by NBC News’ Jeff Rossen discovered that several popular retailers put returned underwear back on the shelves as-is.
That’s right — you could be buying used panties and not even know it.
For the investigation, the news team visited various retailers including Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Victoria’s Secret, and Walmart and purchased underwear. They then discreetly marked the inside tags of underwear with a marker and returned them.
Some retailers handled the returns appropriately, while in other instances the crew was able to find their ‘used’ panties on the shelves ready to be sold to the next customer.
How gross.
