…and it begins.
As we reported earlier, American Idol may be getting rid of all four of it’s current judges. The first to officially announce their departure is Idol vet Randy Jackson.
“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Jackson rep confirms in a statement to ET.
“I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”
Jackson has been with the show for all 12 of its seasons, since it first premiered as American Idol: The Search for a Superstar in 2002.
