Q-Tip Schools Iggy Azalea with a Lesson on the History of Hip Hop

Following Azealia Banks’ passionate rant about Iggy Azalea & the cultural appropriation and the ‘scrubbing’ of Black musicians and their artistic expression, Q-Tip decided it was time to come in for the assist.

While Iggy did respond to Azealia’s rant, she only responded to the personal attacks and chose to remain silent on the overarching issue of appropriation.

After Iggy’s response, Q-Tip took to Twitter to give Iggy a direct history lesson on the socio-political origins of hip-hop and their relevancy.

He broke it down:
