President Trump Fires FBI Director James Comey

Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey.

His firing comes based on recommendations from Dep. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

In a letter written to Comey, Trump says

“While I greatly appreciate you informing me on three separate occasions that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

He continued,

“It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.”

We should mention that Comey was fired in the middle of the FBI’s investigation to determine collusion between Trump and Russia.

To make that crystal clear: The President of the United States just fired the man overseeing an investigation into the President of the United States.
