Oprah’s Former Stepmother Puts Family Secrets on Blast, Says Oprah’s Relationship With Gayle is ‘Bizarre’ and ‘Unhealthy’

Oprah’s former stepmother is not happy about having to leave her home and is alleging that Oprah simply kicked her out and left her homeless.

She’s so unhappy, that she’s speaking out against Oprah and putting all of their family secrets on blast. 

In a candid interview with the Daily Mail, Barbary Winfrey talks about how she’s being kicked out of her home she formerly shared with Oprah’s father for 14 years.

After a court ruling, Barbara was served with an eviction notice giving her until May 29th to leave her $1.4 million Nashville home.

“I have lost everything. It’s not just a house, this is my home. All my memories are here,” said Barbara.

“I’m trying to keep it together but there are some days I just don’t understand how I could have made her so angry that she would kick me out on the street and think nothing about it. But that’s Oprah – she’s judge and jury.”

It doesn’t stop there. Barbara makes things even messier. She calls Oprah controlling, says she has awful taste & throws major shade towards Oprah’s relationships with Stedman and Gayle.

“Everything comes with stipulations but she doesn’t tell you that and she doesn’t tell you what they are.”

“Some people can have money and be mentally rich – secure in what they have I guess. But others, how can I put it…some people you can’t take the ghetto out of. That’s Oprah, it’s who she is and where she’s from. She had money, everybody was going to know it and see it. But she had to be in control.”

‘She was a horrible decorator. Money cannot buy you taste. She would put plaid with stripes and all sorts.  In [her home in] Indiana she must have had 200 dolls, some of them looked like they could have gone back to the slave days, lined up on long benches in the hallway. It was creepy.’

And when she and Vernon arrived at Oprah’s Chicago condo on one occasion she recalled, ‘Oprah got on the intercom and announced, “Negroes in the house. Negroes in the house.”  She thought it was funny. I thought it was insulting. I’m older than her. I know what it means. She was reminding us of our low class.’

‘Stedman isn’t a good steward of money and that suits Oprah fine. He is financially dependent on her. He knows her secrets and she knows his. Why would they marry now? He’s there at her beck and call. He knows his role in her life. And just as importantly he understands Gayle’s role in Oprah’s life.’

‘Gayle is very, very present. I don’t know any man I’ve ever dated who could tolerate that, but Stedman knows Gayle’s going nowhere. They speak on the phone three or four times a day. I can only say what I saw and observed over the years. Gayle was more present than Stedman.’
