Nick Gordon Reportedly In a ‘Dark Place’ After Being Found Legally Responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s Death

Nick Gordon is said to be in ‘a dark place’ after being found legally responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina back in September.

A default judgement was made against Nick after he failed to show up to court for a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina’s estate. It’s unclear at this point how much money he’ll be required to pay — but it could be $50 million.

Gordon, 26, currently lives as a recluse in Florida, a source told People on Thursday.

“He doesn’t have that type of cash, so you can’t get blood from a stone,” the source said. “But it bothers him that there’s this perception that he is responsible for her death, because he’s not. He feels like everyone has made him a scapegoat, and it’s not fair.”

“He’s not doing well at all,” the source added. “He is low energy, just really unhappy. He knew that it was a big deal for him to appear in court, but he just couldn’t do it. So he skipped it and the judgment was entered against him. He’s just in a dark place.”

Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home in January 2015. She died six months later in hospice care.

In a legal filing, Bobbi Kristina’s estate claimed she died following “a violent altercation [with Gordon]” that left her “battered and bruised, with a tooth knocked out … after which he placed her in the bathtub unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.”

Gordon’s attorneys urged Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard to acknowledge there was no evidence of wrongdoing in Bobbi Kristina’s death.
