When Mariah Carey announced the release date for her forthcoming album, many were surprised due to the fact that July 23rd seemed rather soon.
The album has officially been pushed back.
Mariah took to her official website to offer fans a brief explanation:
While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23. I’d rather not have to exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it’s meant to be heard. When I’m ready, you’ll be the first to know!
There will be an exclusive lambs-only moment on 7/23! Please know that I’m super excited about the upcoming events: BET Awards, Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, The MLB charity concert in Central Park, and even just being included in the incredible cast of “The Butler”. Most importantly, I finally get to go on another world tour!! I can’t wait to see my fans and sing my brand new music as well as the fan-favorites!!!
LYM,
MC
I’m sure we’ll get a new release date very soon. Until then, be sure to tune in to see Mariah at the BET Awards on Sunday, June 30th. Anything can happen…
