‘Love Is ___’ Renewed for Season 2 at OWN

‘Love Is __’ is coming back for a second season on OWN.

“Mara and Salim have brought their heart and soul to this passion project working with our friends at Warner Horizon Scripted Television and we couldn’t be more thrilled to renew the show for a second season. This series is an important part of OWN’s scripted programming lineup and to see the ratings grow as the Akils’ love story unfolds each week is truly exciting,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN.

The series follows Nuri (Michele Weaver) and Yasir (Will Catlett) as a couple chasing their dreams in 1990s Los Angeles. The story is told from the perspective of their present-day selves as they reflect on social issues and Black culture.

The series draws inspiration from the Akil’s real-life relationship journey.

“Love Is __” airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on OWN. The Season 1 finale will air Aug. 21.
