Gold Digger took over the charts during the summer of 2005, but earlier this week, video was posted to YouTube of Kanye West and John Legend performing an early, unfinished version of the future smash record two years earlier.
“Early” and “unfinished” may be an understatement; the track sounds completely different in 2003, with John playing notes on the piano and Kanye rapping some of its most recognizable lyrics, including “’cause when she leaves yo’ ass, she gon’ leave with half.”
Not necessarily news, but kinda cool nonetheless.
