Last week we were treated to a preview of Kelly Rowland’s new single, “Dirty Laundry” and we thought it sounded like a sexy bedroom jam. The full single premiered today and it turns out it’s a dramatic semi-autobiographical track.
In the song Kelly talks about being in an abusive relationship and even being envious of Beyoncé’s success.
“When my sister was on stage killin’ it like a motherfucker
I was enraged, feelin’ it like a motherfucker
Bird in a cage
You would never know what I was dealin’ with
Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it
Bittersweet
She was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?“
Whew, ‘dirty laundry’ indeed. Listen to the song below.
“Dirty Laundry” will be available on iTunes May 21st.
