Katy Perry Covers VOGUE, Reveals Russell Brand Asked Her For Divorce Via Text Message [Photos]

Katy Perry has landed her first VOGUE cover and she looks amazing…as usual.

Her cover story talks a lot about her past romances with ex-husband Russell Brand and John Mayer.

Katy & Russell’s marriage ended in December 2011 just 14 months after they tied the knot in India and their split was made legal in July 2012, but the pop star claims she hasn’t heard from Russell since he dropped the bombshell news on her.

Katy accepts their work commitments and especially her hectic schedule for her California Dreams Tour contributed to the failure of the marriage.

However, the 28-year-old singer has hinted there is more to the split than has been revealed, and has suggested 38-year-old Russell couldn’t cope being married to a strong woman like her.

Katy said: ‘I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could.

‘At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, “I can’t handle it.”
