Jesse Williams to Play Harry Belafonte in Upcoming Biopic

Jesse Williams has been tapped to play legendary civil rights activist Harry Belafonte in a new biopic about his life.

The actor revealed news about his upcoming role on W. Kamau Bell’s podcast.

Jesse feels this role will be a perfect combination of his both his passion and skill set.

“I care more about activism and social justice and law than I do about acting. I have an awesome job that I love, but there’s this magnetic force that is constantly pulling me toward activism. I just have to do it” Williams said. “I’m a father now, I’ve got responsibilities, and there’s only 24 hours in a day.”

Excellent casting choice.
