Jamie Foxx’s Comedy Series ‘White Famous’ Starring Jay Pharoah Picked Up by Showtime

Jamie Foxx’s comedy series White Famous is officially a go at Showtime.

White Famous, which stars former Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah and Jamie in a recurring role, is largely based on Jamie’s early experiences in show business.

Per TV by the Numbers:

The series will follow a talented and young African-American comedian (played by “SNL” alum Jay Pharoah), who tries to navigate the tricky waters of maintaining his credibility as his star power rises and he begins to transition over into the mainstream, afraid of becoming what he calls “white famous.”

White Famous will be written by Californication creator Tom Kapinos and executive produced by Jamie.
