A few days ago, Jada Pinkett Smith took to social media to ponder whether or not people of color should boycott The Oscars this year due to the lack of diversity and acknowledgement of actors and actresses.
In a newly posted video, Jada ponders the questions yet again while making it clear that she won’t be attending.
“Maybe it’s time we pull back our resources and we put them back into our communities, and we make programs for ourselves that acknowledge us in ways that we see fit, that are just as good as the so-called mainstream,” she says.
Jada suggested, “We can no longer beg for the love, acknowledgement or respect of any group.”
