Ice Cube Wants to Release ‘Last Friday’ on Original Film’s 25th Anniversary [Video]

Ice Cube has sentimental plans for the last installment in the Friday series.

He revealed his plans for the Friday sequel on an episode of ESPN’s The Jump. Ice says  that he wants the movie to hit theaters in time for the original film’s 25th anniversary — which would be April 26, 2020.

“We are pushing for it, we finished the script, we are getting notes from the studio and it’s going back and forth,” he said. “Get into pre-production and start hiring. It would be nice for this to come out on the 25th anniversary.”

Despite there being a script ready, it’s unclear who from the original cast would be returning.
