Hacked Sony Twitter Account Falsely Claims Britney Spears Is Dead — She’s Not

Britney Spears is NOT dead.

Sony Music Global was the victim of a hack Monday morning. The official Twitter account for Sony’s music division tweeted that Britney Spears had died at the age of 35.

The tweet was also shared by the official Bob Dylan account before being removed by both accounts.

Shortly after the tweet went up, a rep for Britney confirmed that the pop star is still very much alive.

“It appears @SonyMusicGlobal erroneously tweeted her death,” CNN’s Anne Claire Stapleton said Monday morning. “Sony rep says no comment.”

The culprits responsible for the fake tweet come from OurMine, a hacking group known for breaking into high profile account.

OurMine’s 2016 Twitter takeovers have included Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and even BuzzFeed.

What a cruel joke.
