Gladys Knight to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl LIII: ‘I’m Proud to Use My Voice to Unite’

Gladys Knight has been announced as the pick to perform the National Anthem ahead of the 2019 Super Bowl.

“I am proud to use my voice to unite and represent our country in my hometown of Atlanta,” the 74-year-old said.

“The NFL recently announced their new social justice platform Inspire Change, and I am honored to be a part of its inaugural year.”

Considering the backlash Travis Scott and others have received for being associated with the Super Bowl, do you think people are prepared to extend that criticism to Aunt Gladys? Is Jay-Z going to try and talk her out of performing also?
