EJ Johnson Undergoes Weight Loss Surgery: ‘It’s a step in the right direction’

Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson made the announcement on the hit show’s season finale that he was planning to undergo weight loss surgery.

A source confirms to E! News that EJ did receive the gastric sleeve surgery back in August — not too long after the season wrapped.

In the episode he explains, “A lot of people think it’s the easy way out, but it’s not. It’s a step in the right direction, just a big push.” He went on to say, “I feel very mature, kind of in the right place for it and I’m very ready to look cute. The surgery is a huge deal for me and it will certainly be a positive change.” 

According to a health information outlet, “Restrictive operations like gastric sleeve surgery make the stomach smaller and help people lose weight. With a smaller stomach, you will feel full a lot quicker than you are used to. This means that you will need to make big lifelong changes in how you eat—including smaller portion sizes and different foods—in order to lose weight.”
