Dr. Dre Celebrates His Daughter Getting Into USC ‘All On Her Own,’ Despite Making a $70M Donation and Having an On-Campus Building in His Name

Dr. Dre took to Instagram to celebrate the fact his daughter, Truly Young, got into USC in the wake of the college admissions scandal plaguing some of Hollywood’s leading actresses.

He captioned a photo of him and his daughter holding her Certificate of Admissions along with the caption:

“My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!”

Now, we’re not here to discredit the young lady’s accomplishments — but we can’t ignore the fact that Dr. Dre donated $70 million to USC along with Jimmy Iovine just six years ago to establish the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.

C. L. Max Nikias, the president of USC from 2010-18, praised the duo for their donation in 2013.

“The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media,” he said.

The academy’s first class of 25 students enrolled in fall 2014, and its first on-campus building, named the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Hall, broke ground in 2017 and is scheduled to open this year.

Congrats to Truly for getting in — but if the school has an entire BUILDING named after your dad we’d expect nothing less.
