Dame Dash Says He Could’ve Prevented Aaliyah’s Death

Damon Dash recently stopped by ‘The Real’ and opened up about Aaliyah’s tragic passing.

During his visit, he was asked if there was a chance he would have been on the plane with his then-girlfriend at the time of her death.

“There is no chance that if I was there, we would have been on that plane,” he said. “It would’ve never happened that way.”

Aaliyah, along with eight others, died after their plane crashed during takeoff leaving the Bahamas where she was shooting a music video.

“If I was there, I would have made sure that that jet that was supposed to be for her, the G4, she would have been on that,” he added. “I wouldn’t have gotten on that plane. It probably would have been different.”

As for why he wasn’t there — he had business to take care of back in New York.
