Robin Williams tragically ended his life last August, and nearly a year after his death, Cee-Lo Green is honoring the late comedian on his new single aptly titled Robin Williams.
Robin Williams is the first offering from the singer’s fifth studio album Heart Blanche, which is due sometime later this year.
On Robin Williams, Cee-Lo name-drops several influential late actors, including Richard Pryor and Chris Farley. In an interview with Mashable, Cee-Lo gave the following reason for listing their names:
“Each of those people I named were just a few of the artists that have served as comic relief giving me laughter throughout periods of my personal and professional life. Being that I’m cut from that cloth, I realized that comedy is cathartic to both the audience and the author.”
