Bradley Cooper to Star Opposite Beyoncé in ‘A Star Is Born’?

Bradley Cooper and Beyoncé on screen together sure sounds hot! Clint Eastwood has allegedly offered Cooper a role opposite Beyoncé in his upcoming film, A Star Is Born

Bradley Cooper is reportedly mulling over an offer to star opposite Beyonce in Clint Eastwood’s film “A Star is Born.”

Eastwood allegedly wants Cooper as the leading man for the movie, according to Variety.

The director’s version of “A Star is Born” will be a remake of the 1937 film. The movie is about an aging rocker who falls in love with a young, rising star. Screenwriter Will Fetters based the aging rocker character on Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, imagining how he would have fared in the industry 20 years later, had he survived.

The Press Association reports that Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Will Smith have all turned down the “Star Is Born” role. Tom Cruise was the latest to be linked to the part.

“The Hangover” actor may be contemplating the role in Eastwood’s Warner Bros. remake, but, according to Variety, “there is no deal in place and Cooper has a very busy schedule.”

A busy schedule, indeed.

Cooper is currently in negotiations to star in J. Blakeson’s crime thriller “Bad Blood and Trouble” at MRC, as well as “The Hangover Part III” and David O. Russell’s “American Bullshit,” The Hollywood Reporter details.

He has multiple upcoming films as well, including Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook,” the indie “The Place Beyond the Pines,” “The Words” and “Hit and Run.”

Beyonce, the leading lady for “A Star Is Born”, was cast in January 2011. Filming was set to begin in February, but the singer’s pregnancy delayed the plans.

Last summer, Beyonce talked to Reuters about the role.

“It’s when I became a fan of Barbra Streisand’s. And I then saw Judy Garland’s version of ‘A Star Is Born’ and I realized every 20 to 30 years a new star is born and a new talent represents that generation and era — so I didn’t think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star,” she told Reuters.

“I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life. I will work as hard as I can,” she added. “Because I can’t wait. And I am so happy that he trusts me and I am in good hands and I am so fortunate.”
