Aretha Franklin is said to be gravely ill and on her last days in a devastating battle with cancer.
On Monday, Beyoncé dedicated the entire Detroit ‘On the Run II’ tour to the legendary Queen of Soul.
“We love you,” Beyoncé said, while also giving thanks for “the beautiful music.”
Aretha was born in Memphis, but grew up in Detroit. “My roots are there. The church is there. My family is there,” she told the Detroit Free Press in 2011. “I like the camaraderie in Detroit, how we’ll rally behind something that’s really worthy and come to each other’s assistance.”
